Dr. Karissa Walton, NMD
Founder & Medical Director

Dr. Walton is an Arizona girl, born and raised. Since she was a young girl, she always knew her life purpose was to be a physician and this was the sole focus of her education. When the time finally came to apply for medical school, she was faced with personal and family health crises that gave her no other option but to delay this step. Through a very arduous journey of caring for her mother during her battle with cancer, Dr. Walton was ultimately led to naturopathic medicine. It was through this process that it became evident that true healing has been lost in modern medicine and she decided to pursue the journey to become the physician and healer she was meant to be.

During naturopathic medical school, Dr. Walton began studying oncology and planned to become an integrative oncologist. However, she realized that her gifts and experience were more in alignment with the preventative side. She quickly fell in love with physical and regenerative medicine. Dr. Walton spent the majority of her clinical clerkships working in the Neil Riordan Center for Regenerative Medicine, where she trained under some of the nation’s most experienced physicians in non-opioid pain management. She also completed several intensive training programs in regenerative injection techniques including Prolotherapy, Prolozone®, Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP), and Autologous Stem Cells. Dr. Karissa loves using regenerative medicine to help patients get out of pain so that they can move freely and live the life they love.

In addition to regenerative medicine, Dr. Walton has studied many other ways to optimize human performance including Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy, Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, Ozone Therapy, Neurofeedback, and Functional Neurology. She specializes in treating a variety of conditions including autoimmune disease, chronic infectious illness, endocrine disorders (adrenal, thyroid, male and female hormones), musculoskeletal disorders, and neurodegenerative disease (Alzheimer’s, MS, Parkinson’s Disease).

Dr. Walton believes that medicine is rooted in both nature and science, and true health stems from combining them to treat the individual—not the condition. She believes in treating the underlying cause of illness, rather than suppressing symptoms. Using this functional approach to medicine, she is able to develop customized, targeted therapies for every patient. She is also able to help her patients understand the “why” behind their symptoms and teach them how to regain an optimal level of health.

Our Team

Emily De La Huerta
Practice Manager

Hello, my name is Emily. I was born and raised in California until my teenage years when I moved to the Prescott area with my parents. As a child, I watched my father grow a successful business and learned how to be self-driven and hard-working. I am a mom of two and a wife to a wonderful and supportive husband. I have worked in the medical field for 10 years and have learned so many amazing talents. I have enjoyed working in many different medical settings as well as managing staff. In my most recent years of experience I have done staffing, medical billing, and operations management. I have truly come to learn how a team should operate and how important it is to communicate. My passion is to help others in their most critical times. My hobbies include camping, hiking, and hunting with my family.

In my time with Arizona Healthcare Freedom, Dr. Karissa has taught me many things and continues to do so daily. I enjoy working at The Mobile Health Doc because it not only feels like home here, but it is an amazing place for patients to come and feel welcome.

Yvette Wielenga
Medical Assistant

Hi y’all! My name is Yvette but my amazing husband and friends call me Yetti. We are blessed with a beautiful daughter and grandson who we see often and love very much. I grew up in California where I graduated from Chapman Conservatory of Music with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy. I worked in the mental health field at a subacute rehabilitation center for 12 years, collaborating with mental health professionals and other creative arts therapists. It was there that I learned quickly that healing is so much more than Western medical practices.

We relocated to the Prescott area in the spring of 2019 where I continued working in the medical field, expanding my experience to the admin side of things. In early 2022, I found the “perfect fit” here at The Mobile Health Doc. Dr. Karissa and her incredible team teach me something new every day. They are supportive and motivated to healthy living and healing practices. I could not be prouder to be part of such an incredible group of people. And our patients… Well they are the best!

Dahlia Bragdon
Medical Assistant

Howdy! My name is Dahlia and I like to call myself a wildflower of Arizona. I have lived all over Arizona and have settled my roots here in Prescott. I am a medical assistant here at AHF and absolutely love it! I am a Yavapai College graduate with an Associate’s in Fine Arts –Performing Arts. I am passionate about education and inspiring people daily as much as I can. You may have seen me performing in the community. I have performed on the Yavapai College stage from 2016-2019, performed in shows at Suze’s Prescott Center for the Arts on and off from 2016-2024, and sang with POPsSymphony for a few seasons here and there. Every day is a new opportunity to be adventurous, laugh, heal, and feel connected. I pride myself on making it the best day it can be.

We are all dealing with our personal lives that can be heavy enough and deserve moments of feeling light and happy. I am grateful to be a part of an incredible team of passionate, caring people with similar views. Here, we all love to learn, work hard, and inspire, which makes coming to work enjoyable!

Danger the Therapy Dog
Therapy Dog

Hi hoomans! My name is Danger. I’m a Shepadoodle who is everything but dangerous—my parents just have an interesting sense of humor. I’m a lover, fighter, and healer. I had a tough time as a puppy while battling a very bad case of Parvovirus and had to be hospitalized. Naturopathic medicine ended up saving my life after the veterinarian gave me a 2% chance of survival. I am so grateful to be alive and able to fulfill my calling of working with patients in need.

I love hiking, camping, playing fetch/keep-away, and hanging with all my dog and hooman friends. I love working at The Mobile Health Doc because I can put my paw or head on your leg and help you feel more comfortable while getting a blood draw or IV. I also like to wander around and help you feel welcome in my home away from home.
